Focal Cryo
Limited disease no longer means limited options
FocalCryo
What is focal cryo?
- Focal cryoablation is a prostate cancer treatment in which ablation is conformed to the known tumor location, thereby, sparing surrounding tissue.
- As with any localized treatment extensive diagnostic biopsy and vigilant follow-up is essential.
Who can benefit from focal cryo?
- Solitary Tumor
- Limited Disease
- Primary Or Salvage Patients
Focal cryo applications
These illustrations reflect sample variations of Cryoablation techniques and are not intended for Training or educational purposes Consult the Directions for Use (DFU) for more information.

Focal freeze using 2.4mm cryoprobes
This illustration demonstrates two 2.4mm Direct AccessTM cryoprobes positioned near a targeted tumor and separated by<2.0cm. A focal freeze encapsulates the targeted tumor with lethal ice (<-40°C). An extra safety margin is created by extending the ice a minimum of 1cm beyond the tumor.
Hemi freeze using 2.4mm cryoprobes
This illustration demonstrates the use of three 2.4mm Direct AccessTM cryoprobes positioned on one hemisphere (hemi) of the prostate separated by <2.0cm. A hemi freeze encapsulates the targeted side of the prostate with lethal ice (<-40°C). In this illustration the ice balls from the three cryoprobes are still forming and will eventually coalesce (typically at 10 minutes).
Conformal freeze using 2.4mm cryoprobes
This illustration demonstrates the use of four 2.4mm Direct AccessTM cryoprobes. Three cryoprobes are positioned on one side of the prostate (anterior to posterior) and one or more cryoprobes are positioned on the lateral side. All the cryoprobes are separated by <2.0cm. A conformal freeze encapsulates the targeted portion of the prostate with lethal ice (<-40°C). In this illustration the ice balls from the four cryoprobes are still forming and will eventually coalesce (typically at 10 minutes). The Right Probe The Right Outcomes
